Premium Activated Carbon

Activated carbon, with strong performance and high efficiency, is made from high-quality hard carbon and is phosphate-free. The presence of activated carbon in marine or planted aquariums helps remove toxic substances and yellow coloration from the aquarium water, enhancing the health of aquatic life and improving light penetration and water clarity, which promotes better growth and coloration of organisms.

Deep Ocean activated carbon is produced in cylindrical form, optimizing water circulation and absorption in the aquarium. Its wide range of pore sizes makes it the best carbon available for aquariums to remove yellow pigments, pollutants, and irritants, providing excellent water clarity by effectively adsorbing suspended particles. The carbon granules are thoroughly washed with hydrochloric acid, and it can be placed directly in a part of the sump where water flows well over it or in a suitable reactor.
Many carbons on the market contain high amounts of phosphoric acid, which can lead to increased phosphate concentrations in aquarium water. The problem of algae growth in many aquariums is due to the leaching of phosphates from these carbons. In systems with high pollution and organic load, up to 100 milliliters of this product can be used per 100 liters of water in marine aquariums or 200 liters in freshwater aquariums. Given the product’s high potency, if there is a lower volume of organic matter in the system, a smaller amount can be used. In freshwater aquariums that do not utilize protein skimmers from marine systems, activated carbon can be used either permanently or temporarily, while in planted aquariums, it is better to use it temporarily. This product should be replaced after a maximum of 8 weeks.

Usage Instructions:
It is recommended to rinse the carbon with R/O water before use.
In aquariums with low stocking density, use 20 milliliters per 100 liters; with medium density, use 40 milliliters; with high density, use 60 milliliters; and in cases of very high feeding and stocking density, use 100 milliliters.
Deep Ocean activated carbon can be placed in a reactor or a bag with a maximum water flow of 500 liters per hour.
